Sunbird Southern Double-Collared (Cinnyris chalybeus) female feeding Klaas’s Cuckoo – Cape Town South Africa – Click for notes

The immature demanding Klaas’s Cuckoo is fed by the female Southern Double-Collared Sunbird. This was a fortuitous photo opportunity as our neighbour in Cape Town, “The Malcoms”, contacted me that a “small bird was feeding a very big one on their patio”. It was late afternoon, the light was poor, I sat in the lounge and kept clicking as both male and female flittered back and forth Sunbirds feeding this little hungry monster! What a great opportunity.
