Nightjar Great Eared (Lyncornis macrotis) flight at night – India
Full SizeTaken near Thattekad Sanctuary Jungle Homestay. Girish reported that a nightjar would fly over the causeway from 18:50 for 10 minutes and then depart every evening. Amazingly, on schedule, the bird appeared going back and forth. Capturing any moving image in the dark is a huge challenge, this bird was particularly difficult as it moved very quickly. The broad striping on the tail confirms the species. We need a ‘search light’ to capture a better image!
