Flamingo Greater (Phoenicopterus roseus) killed by power line – Cape West South Africa
Full SizeOn the Salt Pans road near Cape Agulhas (Latitude: S 34°43.574′ Longitude: E 19°54.944′) we spotted this recently dead bird close to power lines that, despite discs on the cables to warn birds, this Flamingo must have collided with fatal results. It was immediately reported to the Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology of University of Cape Town.
