Eagle Golden (Aquila chrysaetos) departing – Coronation Gulf, NWP, Canada

This was a surprise sighting at some distance. We were on a zodiac travelling down the Tree River creek where there is a series of impassable rapids and a small fishing camp site.  The Golden Eagles flew across the ridge when I was lucky to get a couple of  images in a few seconds. Then suddenly a pair appeared briefly. It was overcast so definition is not great.

My first distant sighting of the Golden Eagle was earlier this year in Kazakhstan.
