Thrush Sri Lanka Whistling (Myophonus blighi) endemic male – Sri Lanka

Spotting this shy skulker was quite amazing.  I did not believe Chin, our guide who kept looking down a narrow culvert with a trickle of water through garbage at 1918m altitude.  The sun was setting yet after calling the Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush for quite a while we suddenly saw some movement, no more than a shadow.  About to give up it came out in the only opening for a few seconds where applying 20,000 ISO in virtual darkness I got an image.  Just as well that I was prepared using my Nikkor tele lens at F2.8 making this rare photo possible.
