Woodpecker Black (Dryocopus martius) in flight – China

This rare and elusive Black Woodpecker was spotted at 16:00 on an overcast and drizzling late afternoon making a brief flyover.  Unfortunately I had no time to prepare as this diagnostic picture (note red cap) was clicked at high ISO, 1/2500 sec at f14 which was totally the wrong camera setting!
