Fulmar Northern Blue (dark) (Fulmarus glacialis) in flight – Farne Island Northumberland England

Farne Island is an RSPB Reserve better known for a Puffin breeding colony, they had departed by the time of our visit.

The dark Fulmar is widely referred to as Blue.   This was the first sighting since a year and then before that 20 years ago according to our local guide.

I have added this to Scotland for comparison between the Light and Dark Northern Fulmar
