Full SizeBirdlife Africa Flock 2022 cruise on MS Orchestra 24-31st January 2022 with 1500 birders from around the world. Departed Cape Town for Prince Edward (S46o38’39” E37o44’37”)and Marion Island (S46o54’45” E37o44’37”), both South Africa territories. We disembarked at Durban.
Fith morning at sea, 30th January sailing towards Durban. It was surprising that this Tristan Albatross was following the vessel towards the South African coast as it was way out of its normal area on the West Coast.
Key diagnostics are, the ‘piano key’ black white strips at the tail. Then at the centre top of the centre of each wing is a star like white patch.
