Roller Pitta-like Ground (Atelornis pittoides) endemic – Madagascar

After several hours of frustrating tracking through mountainous Ranomafana rainforest in a very short time we spotted three species of ground rollers.  This diagnostic picture was probably the best acquired of our group as the bird dashed away into the undergrowth.  A very rare sighting indeed.
